Mark Mathis – Purchasing & Materials Manager“Everything about Detroit Tool Metal Products is heavy duty. We form parts for large industrial equipment from class 8 trucks, school buses, agricultural equipment, construction equipment, to a variety of government contracts. We stamp large sheets of .030” thick steel to .500” think steel of all grades. Our press capabilities are from 15 tons up to 1600 tons with bed sizes up to 96”X144”. Needless to say we have a lot of heavy scrap metal. There are only a few scrap haulers that can literally carry the load and keep up with our demands. In the past it has taken several scrap processing contractors to service the large amount of scrap we generate.
In 2003 we were thinking of using only one contractor. We believed that this would bring more efficiency, more control and continuity. CASH’S said they were up for the challenge. With CASH’S being in St. Louis 150 miles away, we were concerned about the distance effecting or having a possibility of disrupting our workflow. We stressed that any interruption in service would be devastating to our business. We work 24/7 and needed a scrap service, along with scheduled pick-ups, to be available to call on at any time. Stu Block, President of CASH’S Scrap Metal and Iron, assured us that they would do whatever it takes to carry the load. CASH’S promised their pick-ups would be on time.
We took that challenge and haven’t looked back. We are extremely satisfied with the service that CASH’S provides. Over time they have become more than tote bins at the end of our conveyors and drivers picking up trailers full of scrap. They’ve become our partner. It’s true, CASH’S works very close with DTMP to make sure all is running smoothly. Along with making sure we have the right scrap equipment and pick-ups are on time, CASH’S also delivers excellent service with added value. When we need help, they find ways to keep us moving forward. You can say, CASH’S is with us for the long haul.”
William R. Hayden founded Hayden Lumber and Wrecking in 1945. In the early 1970’s, his son Ronald K. Hayden decided to focus exclusively on demolition and dismantling services for the commercial and industrial sectors.
Today the Hayden family tradition continues with grandsons Brian, Ben and Nick at the helm of Hayden Wrecking Corporation. The company provides expertise in diverse areas, including dismantling, asset recovery, complete demolition, select demolition, environmental assessment, material recycling and site restoration.
Brian Hayden – Co-owner/Estimator"Hayden Wrecking has an impeccable reputation. Our clients know we can handle the large, tough jobs. We can generate a large amount of recyclables and debris, often with little time to clear a work site. That’s why it’s critical for us to have strong, dependable partnerships with our suppliers. CASH’S Scrap Metal & Iron is one such partnership.
We use CASH’S as our scrap metal recycler for several reasons. In addition to giving us a fair and honest market value for scrap, CASH’S offers added value that we can’t find anywhere else. Their service is tops in the industry. CASH’S employees are available at any time, day or night, to work in sync with our people. For all of these reasons, CASH’S has been an important partner for more than 20 years.
Our relationship is indeed a true partnership, because CASH’S takes a key and active role in how we do business. The CASH’S team of professionals is interested in learning, adapting, developing and delivering processes that blend seamlessly with ours.
That teamwork results in uninterrupted and efficient workflow. When we start a dismantling job we can’t stop, and CASH’S understands that. Even though we haul most of our own scrap, CASH’S is always available with the proper equipment and expert personnel when we need vital assistance.
Manufacturing automotive and aerospace components for 61 years.
Wainwright Industries provides metal stamping, machining and logistics services for the automotive and aerospace industries, producing as a by-product in excess of 4000 tons annually of recyclable scrap aluminum, titanium and many grades of steel.
Nelson Wainwright – President“Wainwright Industries is a precision based, continuous metal flow, just-in-time company that works multiple shifts and weekends. Every aspect of what we do is critical to our survival and our scrap metal conveyance is no exception. If the scrap stops flowing because a trailer is full or the scrap metal company misses their scheduled pick-ups, a reverse domino effect occurs. Everything backs up the line quickly. We need a scrap metal company that can keep up with our requirements.
Wainwright Industries was looking for a change. We had scrap that had to be moved and had a tight schedule to maintain. We were looking for a scrap metal company that could dedicate trailers, be on time and offer added value ideas to help reduce our scrap removal overhead costs. One visit with Stu Block, the President of CASH’S Scrap Metal and Iron, I knew they could handle the job. He runs a tight, well-organized group of dedicated people.
Seven years later, it’s been nothing but a great partnership. CASH’S literally goes with the flow and that’s a good thing. They have been open, honest and most of all accessible. Starting with the President of the company to the Safety Director, the Customer Care Team Representative to the drivers that pick up the trailers, they are all attentive, well trained and innovative.
Not only has CASH’S been on time for pick-ups but they helped us organize our different grades of scrap trailers and roll-offs and installed many tote bins in our facility reducing overhead and maximizing our scrap value. I’ve never met a company so dedicated to solving our scrap metal needs and looking for ways to help our business. They went so far as to set up a truck scale on our premises. We now know when the load is full and ready to go and not an ounce too soon for maximum load value. I have no worries and no aggravation. Just pure confidence, and in our industry, pure is a good word.”
